PEPPER PIKE, OH- The Orange Lions flipped the script in the second half and stormed past John Marshall for a convincing 55–39 victory, showcasing balance, poise, and timely scoring when it mattered most.
Orange trailed 24–19 at halftime but came out of the locker room with renewed energy. The Lions dominated the third quarter, locking in defensively and finding their rhythm on offense to knot the game at 34–34 heading into the final period.
Dillon Mathur ignited the comeback, drilling two three-pointers and pouring in eight points in the third quarter alone. His hot hand set the tone for the rally, and Mathur finished the night as the game’s leading scorer with 16 points.
With momentum on their side, the Lions took control in the fourth quarter. Evan Novak delivered six key points, while Wyatt Federer chipped in five, helping Orange build separation and seize the lead for good. Jaylhin Sheppard put the finishing touches on the win, scoring six of his 10 points in the final quarter and calmly knocking down 4-of-5 free throws to seal the victory. Peter Daberko added 7 points and many key rebounds to keep the Lions in the game.
The win highlights Orange’s ability to respond to adversity and close strong as the season continues. The Lions will look to carry that momentum into Thursday night, when they host Collinwood for their annual Senior Night game.
