PAINESVILLE, OH- The Orange Lions took to the road Tuesday night and went toe to toe with the top team in the Chagrin Valley Conference for a half before falling to Harvey, 62-40.
Orange showed no fear early, trading baskets with the Raiders and keeping the game tight through two quarters. The Lions trailed by just three at the break, 28-25, after a strong first-half effort on both ends of the floor.
Harvey shifted momentum coming out of halftime, turning up the defensive pressure and finding a rhythm offensively. The Raiders outscored Orange 34-15 in the second half to pull away and secure the conference win.
Wyatt Federer led the Lions with nine points, while Aaron Lewis added seven in the loss. Despite the final score, Orange’s first-half performance showed their ability to compete with the league’s best.
The Lions will look to bounce back quickly as they return home on Friday to host league rival Perry.
