Sayah Shines with Event Title as Orange Faces Tough Field at Chalk It Up

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- The Orange High School gymnastics team squared off against Madison, Mentor, Perry, and Riverside on Wednesday night at Chalk It Up in Chagrin Falls, turning in several standout individual performances against a deep and competitive field.
Leading the way for the Lions was Aya Sayah, who delivered an exceptional all-around effort. Sayah soared to a 9.1 on vault, earning second place overall in the event. She continued her strong night on beam with an 8.45, good for third overall, before claiming the top spot on floor exercise with a winning score of 8.85. Sayah also added a 7.6 on bars to cap an impressive four-event performance.
Liz Moody provided another highlight for Orange, contributing a 7.7 on vault, a strong 7.9 on beam, and a 7.75 on floor exercise to bolster the Lions’ team score.
Dylan Oakley posted a 7.65 on vault and delivered a solid 7.85 on floor. She also added a 6.0 on beam and a 5.4 on bars as part of her all-around effort.
Natalie Abruzzo recorded a 7.7 on vault and a 7.45 on floor exercise. She added a 6.1 on bars and a 5.85 on beam to round out her night of competition.
Miriam Claypool competed on beam and floor, finishing with a 5.3 on beam and a 6.8 on floor exercise.
Competing against four strong programs, the Lions showcased determination and continued growth, highlighted by Sayah’s event championship on floor and multiple top-three finishes. As the season progresses, Orange continues to build confidence and experience against some of the area’s top competition.
