CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- The Orange Lions hockey team dropped a 10-3 decision to CVCA on Friday night at the Pond in Chagrin Falls, as the Royals used a fast start and sustained offense to pull away.
The opening period featured a flurry of scoring, with CVCA building a 5-2 lead after one. Orange stayed competitive early behind goals from Noah Rice and Charlie Thomas, but the Royals capitalized on several opportunities to create separation.
CVCA continued to press in the second period, adding three more goals to put the game out of reach. Rice provided a bright spot for the Lions by scoring his second goal of the night, accounting for all three Orange talliesीयings.
Despite the setback, the Lions will quickly turn their attention to their next challenge. Orange travels to the Youngstown Covelli Centre on Saturday to face Canfield, with puck drop scheduled for 5 p.m.
