CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- The Orange Lions battled hard on Sunday, but a strong Aurora surge over the final two periods proved too much as the Lions fell 13–5 to the Greenmen.
The opening frame showcased the best of both squads. Orange and Aurora traded chances and momentum, skating to a fast-paced 3–3 tie after one period. David Chudnovsky led the early charge for the Lions, finding the net with confidence, while Noah Rice added timely offense to keep Orange even.
But the balance shifted in the second period. Aurora began to pull away, capitalizing on defensive gaps and sustained pressure to build a 6–3 lead heading into the final frame. Though the Lions continued to push, the Greenmen’s attack only intensified.
Aurora’s Kale Hajek delivered a standout performance, scoring an incredible seven goals to fuel the Greenmen's victory. Orange found bright spots in Rice, who completed a hat trick, and Chudnovsky, who added two goals of his own, but the Lions couldn’t slow Aurora’s offensive burst.
Despite the final score, Orange showed grit and flashes of strong play, especially in the opening period. With several players stepping up and tough competition on the schedule, the Lions will look to regroup and bounce back in their next outing.
