Orange Swimmers Shine at CVC Championships

CLEVELAND, OH- The Orange swim team turned in a series of strong performances at the Chagrin Valley Conference Championships held at Cleveland State University, highlighted by multiple event victories and podium finishes in the Chagrin Division. The girls team finished in 2nd place behind Hawken while the boys team finished in 2nd place behind Chagrin Falls.
On the girls side, Orange made an early impact in the 200-yard medley relay, with the quartet of Charlotte Bolton, Liz Campbell, Lydia Bolton and Noomi Levine finishing third in a time of 2:06.38. Individually, Charlotte Bolton delivered one of the top swims of the meet, capturing the Chagrin Division title in the 200-yard freestyle with a winning time of 2:10.68. Teammate Noomi Levine added another medal, placing third in the same event at 2:22.56.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Liz Campbell earned a second-place finish, touching the wall in 2:26.79. Sprint events also produced points for Orange, as Aanya Chepyala finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.76, followed closely by Lucy Jais in fifth at 26.91. Jais later claimed gold in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the Chagrin Division with a time of 1:07.95, while Lydia Bolton placed third in 1:09.86.
The Orange boys were equally impressive. The 200-yard medley relay team of Gianni Cakulev, Oscar Seibel, Galvin Dovgan and Liam Steele secured a third-place finish in 1:48.53. Cakulev went on to win the 200-yard freestyle, taking first place with a time of 1:53.22. Orange added more points in the event with Suchin Wyckoff finishing third in 1:59.83 and Levi Vanderhart placing fourth at 2:00.33.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Abhay Maranganti earned a third-place finish in 2:29.96. The Lions dominated the sprint freestyle, led by Galvin Dovgan’s championship performance in the 50-yard freestyle, winning the event in 21.98 seconds. Michael Shuster followed with a third-place time of 23.82, and Liam Steele added a seventh-place finish in 24.35.
Across the competition, Orange’s top swimmers consistently reached the podium, showcasing depth and speed as they competed against the conference’s best at the championship stage.
