Orange Swimmers Post Strong Performances at OHSAA Sectional Meet at Cleveland State University

CLEVELAND, OH- The Orange girls swim team turned in a series of strong performances Friday at the OHSAA Sectional Meet hosted at Cleveland State University, highlighted by a third-place relay finish and multiple top-eight individual swims.
The Lions opened the meet in the 200-yard medley relay, where the team of Sam Speer, Adriana Fuentes Maselli, Lydia Bolton and Noomi Levine touched the wall with a competitive time but was disqualified due to an early takeoff.
Orange quickly rebounded in the individual events. Charlotte Bolton led the way with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:07.10. Liz Campbell added an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:25.87.
Sprint standout Aanya Chepyala delivered a pair of top-eight performances. She placed eighth in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.84 seconds and later captured sixth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.25. Lucy Jais also secured an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, touching in 1:06.25.
In the distance events, Sam Speer placed 13th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:04.36, while Lydia Bolton finished 18th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20.93. Charlotte Bolton added another top-eight performance in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing eighth in 1:04.94.
The Lions’ relay teams capped the meet with strong showings. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Chepyala, Charlotte Bolton, Jais and Campbell earned a third-place finish in 1:44.75. In the final event of the evening, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Chepyala, Campbell, Jais and Charlotte Bolton secured fourth place with a time of 3:50.59.
Despite the early relay setback, Orange showcased depth and resilience throughout the meet, with multiple swimmers earning podium finishes and positioning themselves strongly in sectional competition.
