Orange Roars to First Victory of the Season with 49–32 Win at East Tech

CLEVELAND, OH- The Orange girls basketball team broke into the win column in impressive fashion, defeating Cleveland East Tech 49–32 on the road. From the opening tip, the Lions set the tone, scoring immediately on a swift layup by Jayda Gage. Orange’s defense held firm as well, allowing just three points in the first quarter while putting up 15 of their own. Gage buried two of her three three-pointers in the opening frame and finished the night with 11 points.
In the second quarter, Isla Osterman took command, pouring in 7 of her 12 total points as the Lions built a commanding 28–11 halftime lead. After the break, it was Courtney Norton’s turn to shine. She delivered 8 of her team-high 15 points in the third quarter, stretching the Orange advantage to 42–23.
East Tech fought back in the final period, outscoring Orange 10–7, but the Lions’ early dominance secured their first win of the season.
Orange returns home on Friday night to host West Geauga, with tipoff set for 6 PM.
