Orange Lions Shine at Home Swim Invitational

PEPPER PIKE, OH- The Orange Lions swim teams delivered strong performances Saturday morning while hosting their annual Orange Swim Invitational at Orange High School, as the boys team held off Howland and Madison for the team title and the girls finished second overall behind Beaumont.
The Orange girls were paced by a balanced effort that included multiple victories and podium finishes. The 200-yard medley relay team of Liz Campbell, Charlotte Bolton, Lucy Jais, and Lydia Bolton opened the meet with a second-place finish in 2:09.07. Noomi Levine followed with a second-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 2:25.29.
Charlotte Bolton had a standout meet, winning the 200-yard individual medley in 2:29.99 and later capturing first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.50. Liz Campbell also enjoyed a big day, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 28.07 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:46.40. Lydia Bolton added a win in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:13.60 and took second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:24.23.
Additional highlights for the Lions included Aanya Chepyala’s victory in the 100-yard freestyle (59.28) and Lucille Hazzard’s second-place finish in one-meter diving with a score of 17. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Sam Speer, Lucy Jais, Lydia Bolton, and Campbell placed second in 1:57.13. Orange closed the girls meet on a high note as the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Charlotte Bolton, Moomi Levine, Lucy Jais, and Chepyala won with a time of 4:10.47.
On the boys side, Orange’s depth and speed proved decisive. The Lions started fast as the 200-yard medley relay team of Eli Neuendorf, Oscar Seibel, Sam Amato, and Levi Vanderhart won with a time of 1:55.56. Sam Amato continued the momentum by winning the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.71, while Gianni Cakulev claimed first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.02.
Galvin Dovgan had a dominant performance, winning both the 50-yard freestyle (23.26) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.59). Levi Vanderhart captured the 100-yard freestyle in 57.92, and Suchin Wyckoff won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:37.19. Cakulev added another victory in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:01.29, while Oscar Seibel placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:11.47.
The Lions wrapped up the meet with two relay wins. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Dovgan, Cakulev, Vanderhart, and Amato took first in 1:35.99, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Dovgan, Cakulev, Wyckoff, and Amato closed the meet with a victory in 3:31.45.
With strong performances across both teams, Orange showcased its talent and depth in front of a home crowd at the annual invitational.
