Orange Lions Fall to Bedford at Chet Mason Invitational

LYNDHURST, OH- The Orange Lions dropped a 40-27 decision to Bedford on Saturday at the Chet Mason Invitational held at Brush High School.

Bedford set the tone early, holding the Lions to just two points in the opening quarter while building a 7-2 advantage. Orange struggled to find its offensive rhythm against Bedford’s defensive pressure and trailed throughout the contest.

The Bearcats extended their lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Lions 14-7 to take a 21-9 cushion into halftime. Despite continued effort in the second half, Orange was unable to close the gap.

Isla Osterman paced the Lions with 12 points, providing much of the team’s offensive spark on the afternoon.

Orange will look to regroup quickly as postseason play continues. The Lions travel to Streetsboro on Thursday for the OHSAA Sectional Final, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
