TALLMADGE, OH- In a game that was postponed weeks ago due to inclement weather, the Orange Lions boys soccer team made the return trip to Tallmadge and came away with a strong 2-0 victory on the road.
Both teams played a tight and physical first half, with neither side able to break through offensively. The Lions’ defense, anchored by goalkeeper Iain Rowe, held strong as the match remained scoreless heading into halftime.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, the Lions finally found their rhythm. Xavier Gentsch capitalized on an attacking opportunity and slotted the ball past the Tallmadge keeper to give Orange a 1-0 lead.
With just under 15 minutes left in regulation, Miguel Gautier-Franco added to the advantage, scoring the Lions’ second goal of the night and sealing the win.
Iain Rowe recorded three key saves to preserve the shutout and help the Lions improve their season record.
The victory marks another step forward for Orange as they continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
