Orange Lions Battle to 2-2 Draw Against Lutheran West in Hard-Fought Match

PEPPER PIKE, OH- The Orange Lions boys soccer team fought to a gritty 2-2 draw against Lutheran West on Wednesday night, with both sides showing resilience and skill in a back-and-forth contest.
The Longhorns struck early, capitalizing on a fast start to take a 1-0 lead within the first 15 minutes. But the Lions responded quickly, as Evan Novak found the equalizer just minutes later, bringing the score to 1-1. The teams would head into halftime locked in a stalemate.
Early in the second half, Orange surged ahead when Owen Walinsky fired a shot past the Lutheran West keeper, giving the Lions a 2-1 advantage just 10 minutes into the half. However, the Longhorns answered right back, leveling the score once again.
The remainder of the match saw both teams pushing for a winner, with several strong scoring chances on both ends. But stellar performances from each goalkeeper ensured the game would end in a draw.
The tie moves the Lions one step closer to postseason play, as they continue to sharpen their form heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
