PEPPER PIKE, OH- The Orange girls soccer team came up short Monday night in a competitive 4-2 loss to Warren John F. Kennedy.
The Eagles struck early, grabbing a 1-0 lead within the opening minutes. But Orange responded quickly, leveling the score at 1-1 when Morgyn Zucker capitalized on a mistake by the JFK goalkeeper, stealing the ball and burying it in the net.
Despite the momentum shift, Kennedy regained control, adding two more goals before halftime to take a 3-1 lead into the break.
In the second half, Zucker struck again for the Lions, finding the back of the net for her second goal of the night and bringing Orange within one at 3-2. The Lions continued to press, but with about 11 minutes remaining, the Eagles added a late insurance goal to seal the 4-2 victory.
Orange showed fight throughout the match, but JFK’s early offense and late goal proved too much to overcome.
