Orange Boys Make Waves at OHSAA Sectional Meet Hosted by Cleveland State University

CLEVELAND, OH- The Orange boys swim team delivered a strong performance Friday at the OHSAA Sectional Meet at Cleveland State University, highlighted by multiple top-three finishes and solid relay showings.
The Lions opened the meet with the 200-yard medley relay team of Eli Neuendorf, Oscar Seibel, Armaan Chepyala and Liam Steele placing 12th with a time of 1:55.94.
Individually, Sam Amato turned in a pair of top-eight finishes. He placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:49.90 and followed that with a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, touching in 49.11. Suchin Wyckoff added a 13th-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.11.
Galvin Dovgan led the charge for the Lions with an impressive double podium performance. He captured third place in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.16 and matched that finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.61.
In the distance event, Gianni Cakulev placed ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:10.60. Abhay Maranganti competed in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing 26th in 1:06.47, while Oscar Seibel placed 18th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.87.
Orange’s relay teams capped the meet with standout efforts. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Dovgan, Cakulev, Michael Shuster and Amato secured third place in 1:30.27. In the final event of the evening, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Dovgan, Cakulev, Shuster and Amato earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:21.40.
With strong individual swims and competitive relay performances, the Lions showcased their depth and determination in sectional competition.
