Orange Boys Golf Wins OHSAA Sectional Title at Pine Hills

HINKLEY, OH- The Orange High School boys golf team captured the OHSAA Sectional Championship on Monday at Pine Hills Country Club, edging out a competitive field with a team score of 310.

Led by senior standout Jayden Park’s 74, the Lions were able to hold off Gilmour Academy (317) and CVCA (319) in a tightly contested match. All three teams earned spots in next week’s District Meet at Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna.

Sammy Heiser followed closely behind Park with a 76, while Russell Melvey contributed a steady 79. Jordan Clotman rounded out the Lions’ scoring with an 81, and Charlie Thomas added an 89.

The victory marks another strong postseason showing for Orange, who now look to carry their momentum into the district round as they aim for a berth at the state tournament.
