STREETSBORO, OH- The Orange Lions’ season came to a close Wednesday night with a 48-30 loss to the Streetsboro Rockets in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament semifinal at Streetsboro High School.
Despite a strong individual effort from Isla Osterman, the Lions were unable to overcome a dominant first half by the Rockets. Osterman led Orange with 20 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc and converting 7-of-9 attempts from the free-throw line.
Streetsboro seized momentum early in the opening quarter, using a 10-2 run to take control. The Rockets extended their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring the Lions 18-4 to build a commanding 28-6 lead at halftime.
The Rockets continued to apply pressure in the third quarter, stretching the margin to 41-12 and putting the game out of reach.
Orange refused to quit in the final period. The Lions showed resilience and determination, outscoring Streetsboro 18-7 in the fourth quarter behind Osterman’s scoring surge. While the late rally demonstrated the team’s fight, the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
With the loss, the Lions’ season comes to an end, highlighted by perseverance and leadership throughout the year.
