Lions’ Offensive Explosion Powers 22-9 Victory Over Hawken

GATES MILLS, OH- The Orange Lions put on an offensive clinic Monday night, defeating Hawken 22-9 in a high-scoring softball matchup.
Orange wasted no time getting on the board, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Lions then broke the game open in the second, erupting for seven runs to build an 8-0 advantage.
Hawken responded with resilience, scoring seven runs over the next three innings to cut into the deficit and make it a competitive game. However, Orange had plenty left in the tank. The Lions answered with five runs in the fifth inning and sealed the victory with an explosive eight-run seventh inning.
Leading the charge was Kelsey Lewis, who delivered a dominant performance at the plate. Lewis went a perfect 4-for-4, blasting two home runs, driving in eight runs, and adding two stolen bases. Sarah Zak also had a standout night, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs, and two stolen bases.
Emily Utech contributed with two hits, including a double and a home run, while Kenley Lewis crossed the plate twice. Kayla Glazer, Katie Frankino, and Halle Arnold each added key hits to keep the Lions’ offense rolling throughout the game.
With the win, Orange showcased its depth and firepower, using timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to overwhelm Hawken and secure an impressive victory.
