Lions Flip, Twist Past West Geauga and Chardon

MENTOR, OH- The Orange girls gymnastics team delivered a strong all-around performance Sunday afternoon, defeating West Geauga and Chardon in a tri-meet highlighted by steady routines and top finishes across multiple events.
Aya Sayah paced the Lions with an impressive day, earning second place overall on vault with an 8.6 and third place on bars with an 8.35. She added a 7.75 on beam before soaring to first place overall on floor exercise with an 8.9. Sayah’s consistency across all four events secured her a third-place finish in the all-around standings.
Sophie Heiser also turned in a solid all-around effort, finishing sixth overall in the meet. She scored a 7.85 on vault and a 6.95 on bars, then delivered one of her best performances on beam with a 7.9 to place fourth overall. Heiser capped her afternoon with an 8.15 on floor exercise.
Natalie Abruzzo contributed steady scores for the Lions, posting a 7.6 on vault, 6.2 on bars, 5.8 on beam, and 7.5 on floor. Dylan Oakley added a 7.1 on vault, 5.9 on bars, 6.4 on beam, and 7.55 on floor exercise.
Miriam Claypool recorded a balanced performance with a 7.8 on vault, 6.3 on bars, 7.6 on beam, and 6.35 on floor. Liz Moody rounded out the Orange lineup with a 7.3 on vault, 6.75 on bars, 7.4 on beam, and 7.5 on floor exercise.
Behind strong all-around showings and key top-three finishes, the Lions put together a complete team effort to secure the victory over West Geauga and Chardon.
