Lions Drop High-Scoring Battle to Solon, 12–6

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- The Orange Lions fell to Solon on Saturday night, 12–6, in a fast-paced, high-scoring contest. Despite a strong offensive effort led by Noah Rice, the Lions were unable to overcome an early deficit and a big third period by the Comets.

Orange trailed 3–0 after the opening period and surrendered another goal just seconds into the second to fall behind 4–0. The Lions responded quickly, though, as Russell Tye got Orange on the board early in the period. Just two minutes later, Tye struck again to cut the Solon lead to 4–2.

Solon answered with three straight goals before Charlie Thomas found the net for Orange to stop the run. After the Comets added another score, the Lions closed the second period with a late push, adding two more goals to head into the break trailing 8–5.

The third period belonged to Solon, as the Comets outscored Orange 4–1 to pull away and secure the win.

Rice led the Lions with an impressive six-point night, scoring three goals and adding three assists, while Tye finished with two goals and an assist in the loss.
