LATE SURGE NOT ENOUGH AS ORANGE FALLS TO CHAGRIN FALLS, 8–7

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- On a crisp Saturday night under the arena lights, the Orange Lions delivered one of their gutsiest performances of the season—but their furious late rally came up just short in an 8–7 loss to rival Chagrin Falls.

For much of the game, the Tigers controlled the tempo, building a 7–3 lead by the end of the second period. But Orange refused to fade. With determination—and a spark from veterans Russell Tye and Charlie Thomas—the Lions came storming back.

Tye and Thomas each tallied three goals on the night, their scoring heroics igniting a third-period surge that sent the Orange crowd into a frenzy. In the first eight minutes of the final frame, the Lions struck for four goals, erasing the deficit and knotting the game at 7–7. Momentum swung decisively toward Orange as Chagrin Falls scrambled to contain the onslaught.

Meanwhile, goalie Caleb Rivchun kept the Lions within reach all night long, turning aside shot after shot. His 40 saves—many of them spectacular—kept Orange alive even when the Tigers threatened to pull away.

But with just 13 seconds left on the clock, Chagrin Falls found one last opening. The goal ended the Lions’ comeback hopes and sealed the 8–7 final.

Despite the heartbreaking finish, the Lions walked off the ice with heads high. Their resilience, energy, and explosive third period proved they’re capable of fighting back against anyone—and the next chapter of their season is far from written.
