CHAGRIN FALLS, OH- The Orange hockey team struggled to find its footing Friday night, falling 7–1 to Normandy in a lopsided matchup.
Normandy wasted no time asserting control, as the Invaders stormed out of the gate with five goals in the opening period. The early barrage put Orange on its heels and set the tone for the remainder of the contest.
Despite the deficit, the Lions continued to battle and were rewarded when Noah Rice found the back of the net for Orange’s lone goal of the night. The score provided a brief spark, but Normandy’s depth and pressure proved too much to overcome.
The Invaders added two more goals over the final two periods to seal the 7–1 victory, while Orange was left looking to regroup and turn the page heading into its next game.
