RAVENNA, OH- Jordan Clotman is headed to the OHSAA State Finals after a clutch performance at the District Meet held at Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna. Clotman shot a 75, earning a tie for 5th place with James Morgan of Southeast High School and forcing a playoff for the final individual qualifying spot.
The playoff stretched two holes before Clotman sealed the win in dramatic fashion, sinking an 18-foot birdie putt on the par-4 11th hole to punch his ticket to the state tournament.
While Clotman advanced, the day was bittersweet for the Orange boys golf team, which finished 7th overall and missed out on a team bid to states. Jayden Park and Charlie Thomas each posted an 84, Russell Melvey carded an 86, and Samuel Heiser rounded out the scoring with an 88.
The Lions fell short of advancing as a team, finishing behind top qualifiers Poland Seminary (312), Waynedale (313), and Gilmour Academy.
Clotman will now represent Orange at the OHSAA State Finals, continuing what has been an impressive season for the senior golfer.
