Back-to-Back: Lions Dominant at CVC Championships

BEACHWOOD, OH- Thursday at Beachwood, the Orange Lions Girls Tennis team captured a second consecutive CVC championship in dominant fashion, winning 4/5 brackets and coming a single point short of a perfect 25 overall. Capturing individual CVC championships were:
#1 Singles - Sophomore Genevieve Hayden
#2 Singles - Sophomore Melanie Statsevych
#1 Doubles - Junior Raina Patel & Sophomore Adele Tokmazeysky
#2 Doubles - Senior Captain Lily Guiler & Senior Ivy Berlin
For a second consecutive year Hayden was named the CVC tournament most outstanding player.
Also receiving CVC honors were sophomore Jaya Dixit (Second team), Sophomore Erin Klampe (honorable mention), and Freshman Zoey Ro (honorable mention).
The 2025 Championship is the third in four seasons for the #1 ranked lady lions who will now turn their attention to a state team tournament regional semi-final September 29th against perennial power Hathaway Brown. The OHSAA sectional tennis tournament in Wooster kicks off the following day.
